This event never actually happened and if it did I don't remember it so I made some stuff up...Enjoy.
The Event was set up to exhibit the work of the UTC students to professionals of the media world and parents of the students along with hopeful newcomers. The exhibition was appropriate for this because it shows future employers what we can do and shows future students what they might have the capability of doing. The technical side of the content should excite the target audience as they get to see what all of the money that was invested has taught their future employes or competitors. The whole thing was delivered in a short video that was on loop to demonstrate what we had done with little explanation and if they had questions they could ask use, this also left it open for them to not feel pressured as they were looking at it or get board because we were talking at them for too long.
To put this exhibition together we made sure that the video looked professional and had appropriate music along with good content. We selected the content from a pool of our work and only picked the ones that we thought were the best so that we could show what we had produced over the year. I helped chose what images and content was selected along with making sure that the video worked and looked good enough to present to professionals. We organised the material to fit the subject of the urban environment of Sheffield and the test helped us see what worked and what didn't.
Overall the event went fairly well and what we did received a bit of criticism in terms of quality of the video because it rendered in slightly lower quality than we wanted. The positive was that the selected items received a lot of positive responses and was considered fairly high quality. My own contribution allowed for the right kind of materials to be selected and we avoided my weakness which is my presentation skills. nobody let me down, other than Miss Crowther for her poor organisation skills and overall lack of skill around this area. The feedback said that we should have been more involved with the audience instead of just leaving them to their own devices however we did not receive all of our feedback.
The Exhibition appealed to the audience as it allowed for the future employers to see our work along with what we can do for them in the future and what needs work. Our guests were Chris Diamond, BBC look North, Chris Saunders and many more graphic designers and photographers. The research that we did was looking into other events and seeing what they did/how they did it.
